The Livin’ is Easy

Love doesn’t make the world go ‘round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.” ~Frankin P Jones

Who doesn’t like summertime? It’s hard not to love all aspects of summer when you reside in mountain resort areas.  Along with a break from the winter weather comes a chance to shed the protective layers, and live more unencumbered.

Easy, breezy attitudes and living with more spontaneity arrives with warmer weather.  My spirit and even the types of food I eat changes. What ever I can throw on the grill becomes my idea of a satisfying meal along with the freshest fruits and veggies. Less fuss and mess is fine by me; more time to do other fun things.

Katie Goodman, an improvisational comedy act and frequent contributor to Oprah Magazine, has written a book  about living with spark in your life and the value of finding humor in things. “Improvisation for the Spirit” reminds us that life is meant to be enjoyable and creative. http://bit.ly/i7B1Gy.

I’ve almost  always lived in rural environments so I have never been to a comedy club but, I can well appreciate why, in cities, they are so popular. Every summer for more than twenty-five years, I was a volunteer usher at the Weston Playhouse in the community of Weston,Vermont. http://bit.ly/aPFNj2.  The after-the-show Cabaret, that went on until the wee hours of the morning, “poked-fun” at local attitudes and happenings. I tried to attend whenever possible, as it was a wonderful way to boost the spirit; a most welcomed form of creative theatre and hilarity.

Although summertime is the perfect time to cast aside routine, I have to remind myself that living with more flexible attitudes does not have to come only with summer weather. Incorporating new ideas into our lifestyle, trying new activities and going with the flow can bring unexpected and fulfilling things year round.

Have a fun-filled summer everybody and return tomorrow for more from www.CornerstoneFulfillmentService.com.

Caberet at Weston Playhouse, Weston, VT. Always an evening full of fun, humor and antics. Looks like you and Marc are on the way there now, across the country on the back of a scooter! Now that’s an easy breezy attitude!

  2. Sure do miss those stompin’ grounds.
